How many games offered at Bingo?

Mercredi, mai 28th, 2008

Online bingo is a very popular game among people of all ages. It is a
good form of enjoyment for thousands of adults and children alike. The
beauty of Internet bingo lies in the fact that one can play it from the
comfort of one is home at any time. Online bingo is attractive because
the prize money runs into thousands of dollars.

One can play online at any of the several gaming rooms, with real money
or dummy currency. Many gaming rooms allow players to chat with each
other during games. This make the game very social and similar to what
one would play in a land-based bingo room.

To play online bingo one has to register at a particular gaming room.
Next, one has to purchase bingo cards for the game. Bingo cards are a
matrix of five rows and five columns and the central square is blank.
Players can play with more than one bingo card at a time. This increases
the chances of winning. However, one has to be alert to the numbers
called else, one can end up losing more money than expected.

A person called the dealer calls the numbers randomly from 1 to 75. In
online games, the computer software does this. All called numbers appear
on a display, so that one can check with one’s cards for any missed
numbers. Players who have multiple cards can opt for the auto daub
facility, which marks the numbers as soon as the dealer calls them.

The purpose of bingo is to form a predecided pattern of numbers. The
person who forms this first, calls bingo and he is the winner. In case,
more than two people have the winning sequence, they share the prize.
The dealer compares the numbers on the players’ cards with those on the
display screen. In case they match, that person is the winner and a new
game begins.

Overall staying in a boutique hotel

Mercredi, mai 21st, 2008

During my last trip to Paris I decided to finally find out what boutique hotels were about. I heard about it all the time on the internet, magazines, even during conversations with friends. However, when you ask people to give you the definition of a boutique hotel you never get the same answer twice.

I decided to figure it out myself. After a bit of research on the Internet I decided to book with the Starhotels Castille on the picture below,  in Paris Louvre area ( 1st district).

The Castille is a four stars property in Louvre area. The style is contemporary chic blended with venitian-inspired furniture and fabrics. The price per night for a double was €450.

My stay at the Castille helped me grasp the Boutique hotel concept:
They are Smaller in size than regular luxury hotels, usually less than 100 rooms.
Unique design and ambiance created through careful combination of furniture, fabrics, light and color arrangements. A feel at home with great customer services. Usually ratio is 3 guests for 1 employee.
Overall staying in a boutique hotel made my stay in the French capital even more pleasurable.

She was happy with bingo

Samedi, mai 17th, 2008

I had no idea that kind of money was up for grabs with bingo. I honestly thought it was the kind of game people played at their local community centre for the chance to win a few pounds here or there. It is clearly big money as a woman found out at a bingo in the US last Sunday. It says in the article ’she was happy’ about winning $500,000. I think I’d be a little more than ‘happy’ if I won that much.

It looks like I’ll have to revise my ideas about bingo. It seems like every other person is playing it online, as well as offline, these days. I’m not sure there is that much up for grabs playing online but I’m about to find out.

Personally, I hate buying birthday presents. I never have any idea what to buy. I’m pretty hopeless. Recently I came across a UK site where you can get a wide variety of personalised gifts. This site is fantastic as far as I’m concerned because they have lots of unique gifts and novelty gifts which you can’t find elsewhere and the fact that I can buy everything online is a huge bonus.

Birthday caricatures are a great idea for those who have everything and are happy to receive a fun personalised gift. Caricatures are a lot of fun and you can imagine the recipients surprise on seeing a picture of themselves in A3 size.

All you have to do is send a photo in .jpg format and a caricature artist will create the drawing based on your instructions. You can give details as to what they should be drawn wearing, what you want in the background, if there should be any buildings in the drawing etc. You can do whatever you like so you could have the person dressed in a uniform or a super hero outfit or in their favourite football team colours, the choice is yours.

Educational games for young children

Mercredi, mai 7th, 2008

When I first heard of another online video game that teaches children (and the rest of us) about international aid, I expected the same worthy lesson in logistics as the UN’s FoodForce.

However the first stage of “Darfur is Dying” reminded me of my first foray into Duke Nuke ‘Em (ahem) , frantically tapping my arrow keys to guide my 12 year-old out of the reach of Janjaweed Landcruisers. This one will capture kids’ (and your) imagination and bingo educate them about what’s really happening. I am now mystified as to why I have not included this earlier on this blog!!

Priory Woods School is located in Middlesbrough UK bingo. The school provides a quality, inclusive education for pupils with severe learning difficulties and those with profound and multiple needs.

On the site there are several areas to go to with wonderful and free activities. Start with Resources and then select Cause and Effect/Targeting Activities. If you are on Windows you will be able to download all of these to your computer for use. If on a Macintosh only some of them are downloadable. However, you can play all of them on-line anytime, anywhere.

What I like best about these activities is that they have many that are for older students with the need to still do this level of activity.

There are also interactive stories and educational programs. Have fun!

Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona

Dimanche, mai 4th, 2008

In the state of Arizona, you will find the Grand Canyon. Created by the Colorado River over 6 million years, it is a spectacular gorge stretching 277 miles with widths of between 4 to 18 miles and depths of more than a mile.

California boasts some really interesting places to visit including the infamous Alcatraz Prison, Death Valley National Park, which is the hottest, driest and lowest deserts on earth, The Hearst Castle, J.Paul Getty Museum and the Griffith Observatory, which are both in L.A. Depending on what time of year you plan to visit, Yosemite National Park will offer you something different and a visit to California would not be complete without tour of Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank.

The Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum and the USS Nautilus Submarine Museum makes Connecticut a must stop for those of you interested in the sea and the vessels that traverse under and over the waves.

The Historical Society of Delaware takes up a 500 block of a mall in Wilmington and includes the Delaware History Museum, the Old Town Hall, Willington Square and HSD’s research Library.

High on the list of places to visit in the USA would have to be NASA’s Kennedy Space Center and for over thirty years tours groups have heard the stories of men in space and indeed on the moon. Castillo de San Marcos and the Florida Museum of Natural History are well worth a look as well.

Popping over to Hawaii you can visit the great beaches and many monuments and sights but the one that immediately come to mind is the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

Back on the mainland, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and Lincoln’s Home at Springfield as well as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio at Oak Park are the interesting points in Illinois.

Traveling Australia

Jeudi, mai 1st, 2008

I’m never home and I’m either traveling (NYC and FLA) or studying or partying a lot.

The other thing is that I got accepted in an internship program and I’ll be spending all summer in Australia. Oh shit! I’m so fucking excited! What will I be doing over there? An internship and a course on travel writing plus all the stuff that goes with moving somewhere new!

Let me sum things up:
I traveled to Fort Lauderdale to visit two of my friends. We had an awesome time. I visited Miami and South Beach which are really good places to hang.

I finally went to Orlando. In a quick two day travel I bursted into excitement (and lost my heights fobia) in Islands of Adventure and Sea World. I missed my flight back to Boston. Causing me to lose my mind for at least an hour.

Went back to Boston to greet a hot girlfriend from Puerto Rico. Continued my dedicated training in Guitar Hero. I’m mastering Hard Mode right now!
Got into a bus to NYC where three hot chicks were waiting for us and we had fun, oh yes!

The last two weeks in Boston were crazy. Last saturday was our roomate’s birthday. We did a “dress like a rockstar” theme party. It was amazing. Best party ever!

Now, I’m getting ready for a date. Yes things are going good! I’m back.
